Boreas Inn Bed & Breakfast
Beach
Unspoiled, wild and scenic. Long Beach is over 25 miles of uninterrupted beach. At the end of Boreas' private path through the dunes to the beach, a 5-8 minute walk, you can stroll over the curved little bridge connecting the two miles of the paved dunes trail paralleling the ocean. Watch for eagles and osprey. Five blocks south of Boreas's path is the 1/2 mile-long raised wooden boardwalk, a city treasure. Three miles to the south are the headlands, coveting the perilous Mouth of the Columbia, "the graveyard of the Pacific" which is home to Ft. Canby, two lighthouses and the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. At the northern end of the Peninsula is a giant wildlife sanctuary, famous for its 200 varieties of migratory birds.
